On January 16, the technically upgraded 1# EAF was successfully commissioned at SANBAO Steel.

The EAF steelmaking plant consists of 2 sets of EAF, LF, RH, dual-strand slab caster and auxiliary facilities. The EAF project was contracted by WISDRI in EP mode, and we finished the engineering, procurement as well as equipment delivery within just 12 months.

The new 1# EAF upgrading project is a major move of Sanbao Group in response to China’s industrial adjustment, energy conservation and emission reduction. By using advanced process equipment and technologies, high-strength and corrosion-resistant steel for marine equipment, steel for shipbuilding, for oil pipelines, for machinery and equipment and for high-pressure containers, high-grade silicon steel, lightweight automotive steel and ultra-low carbon cold-rolled steel will be produced.
